Therapy in English or Spanish
For individuals in Santiago, Chile and beyond
Specialities
Therapy in English
It is important to be fully understood in your native language to get the most out of therapy. I offer sessions in English for expats living in Chile.
Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression can be the result of various biological and environmental factors. Exploring their root cause and how they affect your life is crucial for healing.
Grief and Loss
Whenever we lose someone or something we love, we feel grief. For individuals who move frequently and have to rebuild a sense of home, this grief is sometimes ignored, slowly becoming unresolved grief.
Art Therapy
Art can be a tool that helps us express thoughts, feelings and emotions that are hard to put into words.
Multicultural Upbringing
There are many reasons why people may come from a multicultural background, such as being raised by diplomats who travel frequently, migration, adoption, and so on. Though a multicultural upbringing has many benefits, it can also affect identity development, even as adults.
Trauma
I like to think of trauma as a wound that happens after a highly stressful event that we’re not able to fully process. It can leave us paralyzed, agitated, fearful, angry and even feeling guilty.
It creates a scar in our body, mind and soul which will eventually need love and attention if we want to fully heal.
Hi, I'm Camila
Clinical Psychologist and Art Therapist with degrees from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Although I am Chilean, I lived most of my life overseas. My background has given me the ability to speak fluent English and Spanish, and has allowed me to understand the different issues faced by English-speaking expats as well as native Chileans. No matter what your background is, I am looking forward to working with you.
til • land • sia
Tillandsia is the scientific name for air plants. Just like these plants, individuals and families with high mobility face the challenge of growing roots without stable soil. Constantly moving can be exhausting and it carries a great deal of grief. However, I believe what sometimes can hurt us, can make us become experts on that topic, if we’re willing to fully address it. Hopefully in this way we can integrate the different parts of ourselves and transform what was previously a problem into our greatest strength.
